This can&#039;t be correct as FMLA only provides job protected leave for 12 weeks (which is approximately 3 months)....6 months out would be double the time allowed by the law.  Once every 30 days is the guideline used now for recerts, and the article above gives some good examples of when it is  appropriate to &quot;stray&quot; from this guideline.</description>

		<description>I beleive that if the FML is for a serious medical condition that is expected to last an extended period of time, a recertification may only be requested every six months.</description>
